November
An exciting month for Jay. Encouraging responses from her first university applications – Bath, Warwick and York. On Wednesday 15 we visited Bath and were very impressed with the facilities, and would probably prefer it to Warwick. But we have not yet seen York and may visit it in the New Year before making a decision.
Towards the end of the
month we also started to look for a second car suitable for Jay to drive. Her instructor thinks she would now benefit
from practice at home. We looked at two
quite suitable models at one garage, but failed to strike a deal, so ended the
month still looking.
Roger has had his flu jab
– evidently popular this year: a 100 yard long queue of pensioners flowed into
the doctor’s surgery on the appointed date.
He also had to visit the dentist, with an abscess diagnosed and an
extraction to come.
At Allens Hill on Sunday
19 November, Clyde came 1st and 2nd in the two dressage
classes he entered. Here he is with his
rosettes:

Jay also competed on the
previous two Sundays, Clyde as usual performing well for her.
Teresa has been making good use of some windfall apples from a neighbour’s garden. One product was a tasty apple chutney:
Two more quizzes this
month. In the first on Saturday 11 at
the bowls club, our usual team again came through to win. A fortnight later at our friend’s village
quiz there was close competition, and we were placed 2nd equal.
